Optimizing the service life of equipment

The global restructuring of energy systems requires investments running into the billions. One key to limiting investments and operating costs is the automation and digitalization of the grid infrastructure. Well-mastered technologies enable intelligent use concepts which allow the existing infrastructure to be loaded even further and, at the same time, to be operated for longer – with lower costs and with higher levels of operational reliability. In addition to digitalizing equipment, we are supporting grid operators in recording the condition of their transformer fleet and in realizing optimized maintenance and replacement concepts. But that is not all: We are available as the expert service provider for the entire life cycle of the transformer, both remotely and on site – from installation to commissioning, through maintenance work and retrofitting all the way to decommissioning.

New Digital transformer check - MR provides training at thyssenkrupp's steelworks

No steel without electricity - but the purchase of new transformers costs a lot of time and money. The employees at thyssenkrupp in Duisburg therefore rely on the TESSA® FLEETSCAN 2D evaluation system from MR.

How ISO 55000 facilitates asset management

Sjouke Bootsma explains the key benefits of using the ISO 55000 standard for asset management at TenneT Netherlands.

Clever fleet management for transformers

Using the FLEETSCAN 2D analysis system, asset and service managers always have an overview of the condition of their transformers, making it easier to plan maintenance, updates and investments.

Retrofit: Bushing monitoring for phase shifters

Bushings are one of the most important parts of the transformer. That is why Slovenian grid operator ELES relies on the MSENSE® BM monitoring system to ensure the power supply beyond its borders.

Retrofit: Breathing new life into old transformers thanks to new tap changers

Reinhausen modernizes old transformers with new tap changers, thus extending their service life. This is the case for grid operator Elia in Belgium.
